Le'Veon Bell has yet to play a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season as he sits out due to a dispute with his contract. It is a move that has received a lot of criticism, but that has not persuaded him to return to the team. In fact, it appears more and more likely that he could end up sitting out the entire year.

Pittsburgh has been just fine at the running back position even with his absence. James Conner has stepped up and is having a massive season.

Needless to say, Bell's tenure with the Steelers has come to a close barring a major miracle.

In response to his critics, Bell took to Twitter earlier this afternoon and posted an upside down tweet.

For those who do not want to put forth the effort to turn their pages around to read it, here is what the tweet said.

“I’m not apologizing for what I believe is right for myself, family and the rest of my peers, period. Also, if you’re really finding the time to figure out what I’m saying, you’ve proved my point.”

Earl Thomas went through a similar situation with the Seattle Seahawks this season. Instead of holding out, however, he went ahead and played through the contract dispute. Unfortunately, Thomas ended up breaking his leg, which will hurt him in the future with his next contract.

Bell may be receiving a lot of criticism for his decisions, but staying healthy is the main key. He is set to receive a huge contract in free agency next offseason and protecting himself should end up paying off for him.
