Although Antonio Brown is all but guaranteed to be playing for a different NFL team next year, the Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to set a deadline on when they will move the disgruntled star.

Speaking to NFL Network earlier today (via 247 Sports), Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert noted that while Brown will likely be moved, it won’t necessarily be before March 17th, which is when Brown is due a guaranteed $2.5 million roster bonus. According to Colbert, while the team would like to move him prior to that, they also want to make sure they’re receiving the proper amount of assets back for a superstar of Brown's caliber.

Elsewhere in the discussion, Colbert noted that the Steelers will be looking for significant assets in return for Brown. Namely, high first-round picks or other talented players will likely be discussed in any trade negotiations, and the Steelers will probably not be dealing the wide receiver for any late-round picks.

Also important to note is that Colbert has already said that the team will simply not trade Brown if they can’t find the proper return, and that this has been made clear to the receiver in his meetings with the team. As Brown prepares to leave, Colbert still had nothing but great things to say about him, praising his leadership and role on the team.

Brown finished the 2018 season with 1,297 yards and a league-leading 15 touchdowns. Once again, he was one of the best players at his position and is likely the best receiver in the NFL at the moment. Whoever is trading for Brown will need to give up a lot, but will be getting a franchise-altering talent in return.
