The Pittsburgh Steelers got some positive news as they fight to keep their postseason hopes alive. Star linebacker TJ Watt is set to be ready for action for Week 16 against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Steelers star is dealing with some cracked ribs, but is reportedly going to play through the pain, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Steelers star T.J. Watt will play against the Chiefs today in a huge game. But as has been the case for most of the season, the Pro Bowl pass rusher will do so in some pain.

Sources say that Watt suffered a couple of cracked ribs in last week's win over the Titans, a painful injury but one that did not limit his availability in practice this week. In fact, he was a full participant every day.

Getting TJ Watt back, even if not at his usual 100%, is welcome news for Steelers fans. Pittsburgh has a tall task ahead as they face off against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who are the hottest team in the NFL with seven consecutive victories heading into their matchup.

The Chiefs will be motivated all the same as they chase down the conference's coveted top seed for a postseason bye. But with TJ Watt in the fold and the Steelers playing for their own playoff lives, anything can happen.
