Le'Veon Bell has been one of the most talked about names of the 2018 NFL season and the Pittsburgh Steelers have still not seen their star running back report to the team. After reports of unrest and trade rumors leading up to the NFL trade deadline, Bell is still on the team and can only play for the Steelers this season.

According to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Steelers did not receive any serious trade offers for Bell at the deadline even though there were a lot of rumors swirling around about him.

No teams called to attempt to acquire Bell at last week's trade deadline, sources said, which may be an ominous sign for the former All Pro as he attempts to determine his market value for next season. Landing a long-term mega-deal after sitting out this long may prove to be quite difficult, given how his stance this season has been interpreted around the league, even if he manages to put up big numbers after a Pittsburgh return.

It is a bit surprising that no team was willing to up their offer to try to bring in a player of Bell's caliber. Perhaps they were simply worried that he would not report to them if they did trade for him.

Bell is headed for free agency this coming offseason and he is not expected to consider returning to the Steelers. Pittsburgh seems to be just fine without him with running back James Conner stepping in and replacing his production nicely.

Last season with the Steelers, Bell carried the football 321 times for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns. He also caught 85 passes for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

All of that being said, Bell is going to be the most prized free agent on the market this offseason. It will be interesting to see which teams are the most aggressive in their pursuit of him and where he ends up signing.
