Pittsburgh Steelers second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph was thrust under center in the team's Week 2 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks after an injury suffered to veteran signal-caller Ben Roethlisberger's throwing arm. Rudolph, 24, connected with No. 1 receiving option JuJu Smith-Schuster, however, for an impressive and tricky flea flicker reception.

Rudolph initially hands the ball off to running back James Conner before the local product Conner flings the football back to Rudolph, unloading down the field to a barely open Smith-Schuster for the huge gain. It was a shot in the arm of Pittsburgh's offense after entering the second half without 37-year-old, two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Roethlisberger.
The Steelers selected Oklahoma State product Rudolph in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. As Roethlisberger's backup, Rudolph did not play a single snap during his true freshman season last year, instead staying pat on the sidelines should any injury befall the Steelers' longtime man under center.
That moment occurred for Rudolph on Sunday against the Seahawks, though, after a late-second-quarter play led to Big Ben walking off the field, obviously feeling discomfort in his throwing arm.
Pittsburgh will need the 6-foot-5 Rudolph to lead the AFC North franchise to their first win of the 2019 season after Roethlisberger and the Steelers could not get it done last week in Foxborough, where the reigning Super Bowl champions New England Patriots unfurled their latest banner and stomped out Pittsburgh en route to a 33-3 win.
Rudolph has currently completed six passes for over 70 yards as the Steelers offense drives down field with the score 21-13 favoring Seattle.
