Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Jarran Reed underwent sports hernia surgery on Tuesday morning, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Rapoport adds that Reed will have a recovery time of four-to-six weeks, which puts him on schedule to be more than ready for training camp.

Reed started all 16 games for the Seahawks this past season, racking up 50 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and a couple of fumble recoveries. He did all of that in spite of battling injuries throughout the year, as he experienced oblique and groin issues late in the season.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by Seattle in the second round (49th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He appeared in 15 contests during his rookie campaign, finishing with 34 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three passes defended. Then, the following year, Reed participated in 15 game once again, totaling 45 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
