The Seattle Seahawks will be facing the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, but the status of one of their top players on offense is up in the air, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“Seahawks added WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba to their injury report as Questionable for Sunday’s game versus the Saints due to an illness,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This is big news for the Seahawks, as Smith-Njigba has emerged as the Seahawks' top receiver with all of the changes that occurred during the offseason. So far this season, he's recorded over 100 yards, and if he is able to play against the Saints, he can become the first player in franchise history to post 1oo or more yards in the first three games of the season.

The hope is that Smith-Njigba's illness isn't too serious and that he's able to push through to help the Seahawks to another win. If he isn't able to go, players such as Cooper Kupp will have to step up in his absence.

During the offseason, DK Metcalf was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tyler Lockett was released, which left Smith-Njigba alone in the receiving core from last season. The Seahawks believe in his skillset, and so far this season, he's proving that he's ready to be the guy on offense.

The one thing that everyone is waiting for is Smith-Njigba to get into the endzone, which he hasn't done yet this season. He has a lot of time left in the season to do so, and it could be against the Saints, but first, he has to be available to play.
