In a shocking turn of events during tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Washington Football Team (WFT) and the Seattle Seahawks. With just 36 seconds remaining in the first half, WFT kicker Joey Slye lined up for an extra point trying to put his team up 10-7 and the rest is history…

That is just the second blocked extra point of the 2021 season and the first to be returned for a score. What makes it even more improbable is the fact that it was 279-pound defensive lineman Rasheem Greene who was the one who not only blocked the kick but also returned it for the two-point score. This was Greene's first career blocked kick and his first career score and the big man showed his emotion the entire way down the field. It was a big play for Seattle but they still need to capitalize on the momentum that they gained.

The game is now in the second half and WFT now leads 17-9. You guess by the added eight points that WFT went for the two-point conversion. They did, and it was because Slye was injured in the aftermath of the blocked kick and WFT is now without a kicker.

With WFT sitting at 4-6 and the Seahawks at 3-7, it seems that both teams are in desperation mode–especially the Seahawks. Not only do they have the harder path to the playoffs with the worse record, but they also play a very tough schedule that is going to be hard to overcome down the stretch. This play went a long way in preserving the season for the Seahawks, but only a win–and a few more after this–will have Seattle fans feeling comfortable by Christmas.
