The Seattle Seahawks are re-signing cornerback Akeem King to a one-year contract worth $1.4 million, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The deal includes a $400,000 signing bonus and can reach as much as $2.05 million with incentives.
King is coming off a season in which he played in all 16 games, finishing with 21 tackles.
The 26-year-old, who played collegiate football at San Jose State University, was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round (249th pick) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He played in just five games for the Falcons during his rookie campaign, with a lone pass defended representing his only statistic.
King then spent the entire 2016 season on Atlanta's practice squad. In September 2017, the Falcons waived King, clearing the way for him to sign with the Seahawks.
