A labrum injury kept Seattle Seahawks safety Tedric Thompson out for all but six games in 2019. With the team's signing of former Detroit Lions defensive back Quandre Diggs at the 2019 NFL trade deadline, Thompson's role on the team was diminished.
With that said, the 25-year-old safety is likely on his way out of Seattle. Per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, the Seahawks have given Thompson permission to seek a trade.

According to Brady Henderson of ESPN, there was a market for Thompson at the trade deadline but no deal was made for the 6-foot, 204-pound safety. Henderson adds that a trade now seems unlikely considering Thomspon is coming off Labrum surgery.
In the six games that he did appear in for the Seahawks, Thompson recorded 19 tackles, two passes defended and two interceptions.
Without Thompson for the majority of the season, the Seattle defense struggled for the most part. The team allowed 24.9 points per game to opponents which ranked 22nd in the league while the team's pass defense ranked a paltry 27th in the NFL.
However, as a whole, the Seahawks still managed to finish the regular season with an 11-5 record before being eliminated by the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round.
Seattle has many free agents that they need to focus on this offseason, including star pass rusher Jadaveon Clowney, linebacker Mychal Kendricks and right tackle Germain Ifedi among others.
Given that there was already a market for Tedric Thompson last season, it makes sense that several teams would be interested in the three-year veteran. However, due to his recent injury and subsequent surgery, Thompson's value may be diminished.
