The Seattle Seahawks have been linked as a team that could pursue Antonio Brown despite his off-the-field concerns. ESPN's Brady Henderson gave an update on Seattle's current interest in signing the veteran receiver this offseason.

“The size of the risk would depend on the size of his contract,” Henderson noted. “…It would be one thing if Brown were available on the cheap. In that scenario, maybe the Seahawks could live with certain parts of his past — the frozen feet and uncertified helmet debacles, going AWOL and confronting his general manager — knowing they’d have an all-world talent at a bargain price and could painlessly cut ties at the first sign of trouble. …But even then, there are the other alleged parts of Brown’s past. It’s hard to imagine an organization that dealt with the fallout from the [Frank] Clark pick signing a player who stands accused of sexual assault.”

Earlier this offseason, Russell Wilson was rumored to be interested in the Seahawks adding Brown to the offense. Those rumors grew louder when the Pro Bowl quarterback was seen working out with Brown at the beginning of this month.

Even though Wilson would love to have a weapon like Brown, the All-Pro wideout would likely be facing a suspension from the league if he were to sign with a team. This is something that Henderson pointed out as to why Seattle could be hesitant in signing Brown.

“The impression one source gave was that nothing is close to happening with the Seahawks and Brown because of what has to be sorted out in his life first,” Henderson explained.

John Schneider, the GM of the Seahawks, has never been afraid to make risky moves. However, when it comes to signing Brown, Seattle is taking a patient and cautious approach.
