The Seattle Seahawks' first game kicks off on Sunday, as the new season is set to begin soon. This franchise plays in a tough NFC West division, so they'll have to be at their best if they hope to make another playoff appearance.
Seattle brought in a new offensive coordinator in Shane Waldron who is known to rely on the passing game in his scheme. This is great news for Russell Wilson and the receiving core, even though Pete Carroll claims they'll be a run-first offense. Either way, the Seahawks will likely have one of the top offenses in the league.
Even so, Seattle needs the defense to improve. Look for them to step up their game in stopping the pass. The front office brought in a new tight end who could make some noise this year. Seattle's passing game is in line to be elite, look for their wide receiver duo to be one of the best again. Lastly, with the new offensive coordinator, Russell Wilson could be in the running for the MVP. With that said, here are four bold predictions for the Seattle Seahawks 2021 NFL season.

4. Seahawks pass coverage vastly improves
Last season, the Seattle Seahawks struggled to stop the pass. They allowed 4,560 yards through the air, the second-most in the league. The Seahawks started the year hot but eventually cooled off. To maintain themselves, the pass coverage must improve. If Seattle can be just average in that category, they should be able to be one of the best teams in the NFL.
Jamal Adams is more known as a run-stopper, but his coverage skills are extremely underrated. With Quandre Diggs, DJ Reed, and Tre Flowers playing the other starting roles in the secondary, the Seahawks have the tools to have a better pass coverage. We'll see how it plays out, as they face off against the Indianapolis Colts to kickoff the season. This is a solid matchup to help the secondary get in tune with the rest of the defense.
3. Gerald Everett finishes as a top 10 tight end
After playing with the Los Angeles Rams the last four years, Gerald Everett joins the Seahawks as their new starting tight end. It's a fresh start for Everett, as he's been rather mediocre throughout his career. However, with most of the attention on DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Everett should find himself open throughout the season.
He's a very capable tight end who just couldn't thrive in Sean McVay's offense. Wilson should be throwing to him quite often, as Gerald Everett will be a reliable pass option. For that reason, Everett has the potential to have a breakout season. Look for Wilson and Everett to connect frequently, especially on underneath throws.
2. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both finish in the top 10 again
DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both served as consistent pass options for Russell Wilson last year. So much so, they both ended up amongst the top 10 wide receivers statistically. The Seahawks wide receiver duo could repeat that performance, especially with Shane Waldron serving as the new offensive coordinator.
The Seahawks need their offense to be elite. Metcalf and Lockett playing together give Seattle their best chances to succeed. With Chris Carson in the backfield, Seattle has an incredibly balanced offensive attack. However, this is a passing league, which means we should be seeing plenty of Metcalf and Lockett throughout the regular season.
1. Russell Wilson is in the running for MVP
It's no secret that Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's great in the pocket and uses his legs to get out of sticky situations. Although he can run it with the best of them, Wilson tends to scramble to extend the play, rather than looking for yards. He's an elite quarterback and could be in line for an MVP performance.
Although that's true, there will be some stiff competition for the MVP award this year. Russell Wilson might not win the prestigious award, but he could be a runner-up. The Seahawks will need that level of play out of Wilson if they hope to make another postseason appearance. Everything starts with him.
The front office did their best to smooth things over with Wilson during the offseason and built an offense he can succeed with. The offensive line seems improved, Seattle arguably has one of the best wide receiver duos in the league, and the run game is consistent. Look for the Seahawks to be one of the best teams this year, as Russell Wilson is in line to have a monster 2021 NFL season.
