The Pittsburgh Steelers are doing what they can to continue playing at a high level without arguably their best player, Antonio Brown.

Ben Roethlisberger and company are now 12-3 on the season after crushing the Houston Texans in Week 16. Pittsburgh will now have even more time to get Brown back on the field as they have secured a first-round bye in the playoffs.

With the Steelers' best offensive weapon in the passing game on the mend, Roethlisberger has been impressed with the way the team has stepped up to help fill the void, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

“I was thinking of AB not being out there and trying to fill those shoes,” Roethlisberger said. “You can’t fill [Brown’s] shoes. I told them don’t try to fill them, just be the best you can be. And I thought everybody did a great job of it tonight.”

The Steelers didn't miss a beat in the win over the Texans with the offense clicking even without their superstar wideout. Three receivers had 52 receiving yards or more with Roethlisberger looking to JuJu Smith-Schuster most of the game connecting with the USC product six times for 75 yards and a touchdown.

In Week 17, the Steelers will finish their regular-season campaign against the division rival Cleveland Browns. Although the Browns will be hoping to avoid going 0-16, Pittsburgh can rest some starters and still potentially come out on top with relative ease.

As for the postseason, the storied NFL franchise will hope to stay healthy and get Brown back on the gridiron when it counts most, especially if they end up facing the New England Patriots once again in the coming weeks.
