The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have yet to make a decision on Jameis Winston, who is set to hit unrestricted free agency in March.

With the Buccaneers' quarterback situation in limbo, head coach Bruce Arians isn't yet sure what the outcome will be, but he did name a couple of veterans he wouldn't mind seeing under center next season:

“Tom Brady,” said Arians, according to Greg Auman of The Athletic. “Philip [Rivers] is another guy. We’ll see.”

It's important to note that Arians did not rule out bringing back Winston and was nearly naming other options Tampa Bay could potentially pursue.

“When the dominoes start falling, other guys are going to be on the market,” Arians said of quarterbacks. “How long? I don’t want to drag it out very long. It’s one thing I’d like to get done soon. We’ll see.”

Arians added that he has not spoken to Winston since the end of the season and that he does not want any quarterback controversy heading into 2020:

“If you have competition at quarterback, you probably don’t have one,” he said. “That’s always been my philosophy. Whoever’s our quarterback is our quarterback.”

Winston is coming off of a Jekyll and Hyde type of 2019 campaign in which he led the NFL with 5,109 yards and threw 33 touchdowns passes, but also topped the league with 30 interceptions.

The 26-year-old became the first player in NFL history to throw 30 touchdowns and 30 picks in the same season.

Winston has been under center for the Bucs since 2015 but has shown very little (if any) progression.

The Buccaneers have not made the playoffs since the 2007-08 campaign, representing the longest active drought in the NFC.
