The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not resting on their laurels from winning the Super Bowl. Head coach Bruce Arians has this exact mindset, as he promised that training camp will be no picnic for his players, per JoeBucsFan.com.
“When our guys come back, and that’s my job, I’m going to beat the sh*t out of them,” Arians told The Loose Cannons show on YouTube on Friday. “We’re going back to basics and we’re going to have one hell of a training camp and know what our foundation is.”
Even if the brutal and rigorous training regimen Arians has discussed isn't as bad, the team is in a good position to win it all again next season after making sure all 22 starters from their Super Bowl squad were brought back, led by Tom Brady.
Article Continues BelowBrady is one of the fiercest competitors in any sport. During his time with the New England Patriots until now, he repeatedly played under contracts that were well below his market value. This allowed the front office to surround him with talent and ensure a competitive roster.
The restructuring of Brady's contract made it possible to re-sign their key free agents, like pass-rusher Shaq Barrett, putting the Buccaneers in a good position for next season. It is a common sight to see such teams have their rosters gutted, essentially ending their title defense in the offseason. Props to Tampa Bay.
