Tom Brady, his camp and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all denied the ESPN report claiming that the veteran QB has decided to retire from the NFL. According to recent updates, TB12 has yet to make a decision and will take his time doing so.

However, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN who broke the news, the delay is actually more of a timing thing than deciding whether to retire or not. According to the veteran journalist, Brady is all but set in calling it a career.

“Look, he's still processing it, still going through his decision. But he’s retiring, that’s the bottom line to the whole thing. And he wants to do it when he’s ready and make the announcement on his time schedule, the way that he wants to, which I would imagine would include some sort of tremendous video send-off on his social media accounts. But that’s where this is going now,” Schefter explained.

This update corroborates an earlier report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, citing that several people close to Tom Brady have said that he does intend to retire, but he wants to make the announcement himself when he is ready–hence the pushback.

It is still unknown when Brady will make his official decision, but expectations are it will come sooner rather than later since it will have major implications for the Buccaneers one way or another.

If this is really the end for Brady's NFL career, though, it is certainly one legendary career to remember. He is the GOAT QB for a reason, and there might not be another one like him who would be as dominant and successful.
