When players from the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the football field on Sunday for Super Bowl 55, there is no doubt that they will be highly motivated. After all, it is the biggest game of the season, and their goal of winning the Lombardi Trophy and the championship ring they worked for throughout the year is within their grasp.

But if that isn’t enough, players from the winning team will get much more than players from the losing team, with the winning players receiving $130,000 and the losing players pocketing $65,000, according to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano.

Nadine El-Bawab of CNBC reports Buccaneers players have already received $125,000 in bonuses from their playoff victories over the Washington Football Team, New Orleans Saints, and Green Bay Packers. Their players received $33,000 for winning the Wild Card Round, $33,000 for their victory over the Saints in the Divisional Round, and $59,000 for beating the Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

Chiefs players, meanwhile, have received $122,000 in their postseason wins over the Cleveland Browns in the Divisional Round and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. A win by Tampa Bay would mean that each player has received $255,000 during their postseason run, while a Chiefs victory would bring their postseason bonuses up to $252,000 per player.

Aside from receiving more money, there are also other benefits such as player bonuses if their teams manage to win the Super Bowl. Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, for instance, will receive an additional $500,000 if Tampa Bay defeats the Chiefs. He has already received $1.75 million worth of incentives in the team’s playoff wins.

Players from both teams will no doubt be highly motivated to win the Super Bowl, but the bonuses will also raise the stakes even further for what is already the biggest game of the season.
