Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt saw his season end when he suffered a devastating knee injury during Week 5’s home game against the Kansas City Chiefs. There's some hope on the horizon, however.

Watt getting carted off the field and riding an ambulance to the hospital was a very unnerving sight for Texans fans, but it was more disappointing for the 28-year-old Watt, who worked hard in the offseason to get in shape after playing in just three games in 2016 due to a back injury.

Watt is a fighter, though, so Houston could expect him to return to the field 100 percent ready to punish opposing offensive linemen and hammer quarterbacks to the ground again.

For the meantime, he seems to be crushing his battle with injury, even posting a video of himself walking unassisted by crutches for the first time since going down with the injury.

The Texans are just 4-7 and are unlikely to make the playoffs with Watt and rookie quarterback sensation Deshaun Watson both out for the rest of the season. Still, for the Texans and their fans to see Watt doing well in his rehab could be taken as a form of good news.

Hopefully for the team, Watt would be ready to go once the 2018 season rolls around.
