Despite the Washington Football Team having no shot at reaching the playoffs this year, Ron Rivera's side plans to give it their all in Week 18 against the New York Giants. The team will get a significant boost to the offense ahead of the NFC East rivalry clash. According to Ian Rapoport, Washington has activated key offensive lineman Ereck Flowers and star running back Antonio Gibson from the COVID-19/Reserve list ahead of their season finale.

Gibson missed Washington's Week 17 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys after landing on the COVID-19 list, so the team will be eager to get him back up and running for their season finale. The Week 17 matchup was the only game Gibson missed this season, and even with the playoffs out of reach, the 23-year-old will be returning to action for the season finale.
The former third-round pick has had an inconsistent season in 2021 and struggled in his previous three games prior to missing last Sunday's action. During that span, Gibson failed to rush for more than 40 yards and scored just one touchdown. On the year, Gibson logged 237 carries for 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Additionally, the second-year RB caught 41 passes on 49 targets for 289 yards and three receiving touchdowns.
A big game against the Giants could see Gibson top the 1,000 rushing yard threshold for the first time in his career. The Washington star needs 109 rushing yards to reach the milestone, though that could prove difficult based on his recent struggles. With a significant accomplishment within his grasp, Gibson will be back in action for Washington as the team closes the chapter on the 2021 season.
