Friday has been the day for trades across the NHL. Now, the Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks are finalizing a deal that would involve the No. 9 overall pick in the NHL Draft and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. The news first came out of the deal via John Gambadoro:

Senior NHL Writer Greg Wyshnski of ESPN added on to the deal between the Coyotes and the Canucks.

The Coyotes finished fifth place in the West Division, where they came close to entering the playoffs. On the other hand, the Vancouver Canucks finished dead last in the North Division. It seems like the Coyotes are ready to win now with certified veterans, as they dealt away two of their best players in Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland while getting in return the trio from the Canucks that include Beagle, Roussel, and Eriksson.

The NHL Draft is set to kick off on Friday and will go until Saturday and now Arizona has acquired one of the top 10 picks in the draft.

So far it has been a wild day of NHL trades, and there will surely be more before the day concludes especially with the draft fast approaching. Stay tuned for more NHL action throughout the weekend.
