The Washington Capitals managed to pull off a huge upset in Game 1 on the road against the Florida Panthers, but may not find things so easy in Game 2. Head coach Peter Laviolette revealed veteran forward Tom Wilson will be a game-time decision for Game 2 due to a lower-body injury. The 28-year-old is undergoing treatment for the injury and is hoping to be able to take the ice on Thursday night, per Tarik El-Bashir.

Wilson was one of the heroes for Washington on Tuesday night, opening the scoring with a goal in the first few minutes of the game. Shortly after scoring, however, Wilson went to the locker room with an injury and did not return to the game. He registered three shifts, totaling 1:31 of ice time before his early departure from the contest. He made a huge impact in his limited game time, scoring the goal and recording two early shots on target, helping to set the tone for the Capitals for the rest of the evening.

While the lead Wilson gave the Capitals was soon erased by a Sam Bennett equalizer, Washington managed to overcome a 2-1 deficit in the third period with consecutive goals from Evgeny Kuznetsov, T.J. Oshie, and Lars Eller.

During the regular season, Wilson recorded 52 points across 78 games, the fourth most on the team. He scored 24 goals and assisted 28, both of which were career bests. It would be a big loss for the Capitals if he's unable to play in Game 2, though they managed to earn the win with him on the sideline for most of Game 1.
