Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was a key cog in the team's 2020 season, which saw them finish with an 11-5 record and ultimately ended an 18-year playoff drought. Even though they came up short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and his squad were still able to get a lot of positives from their 2020 campaign.

In his third season in the league, Chubb has already emerged as one of the league's best rushers due to his stellar production on the field week in and week out. The upcoming season will certainly be a big one for the Georgia product as he aims to earn himself another Pro Bowl appearance and lift the Browns to greater heights in 2021.

2020 Fantasy Stats

Last season, Nick Chubb shared the backcourt with a capable newcomer in Kareem Hunt. Though having a prolific rushing duo greatly benefited the team as a whole, it somewhat limited Chubb's ability to reach his ceiling due to his shared touches with his new running mate.

Despite playing within a crowded backfield, the 25-year-old still had an applaudable campaign as he racked up a total of 191.7 fantasy points last season. His level of production primarily came from the type of offense that Stefanski brought into the team in his first year as head coach of the Browns last season.

Looking back, Chubb's best outing came in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He notched a total of 124 rushing yards on 22 attempts and two touchdowns to produce 25.3 fantasy points in that particular game.

Unfortunately, Chubb was sidelined for over a month after he sustained an MCL injury in their Week 4 tilt against the Dallas Cowboys. Despite missing four games, he was still able to exceed 1,000 rushing yards for the season to earn the second Pro Bowl selection of his career.

Even with the challenges that Chubb previously encountered, he was still able to make valuable contributions for his fantasy owners last season and could eventually set him up to have a positive outlook for 2021.

2021 Fantasy Projections

On that note, having a respectable campaign in 2020 will certainly give Nick Chubb more momentum to do better on the field next season. He will continue to lead the rushing duties for the Browns and will serve as a significant contributor to their offensive attack alongside Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jarvis Landry.

Certainly enough, spending a year of playing within Stefanski's system will help Chubb and his teammates play better both individually and as a team heading to next season. However, the biggest question mark for Chubb's level of performance next season would be his health. Fortunately, he has already proven to be durable enough as he managed to play all 16 games in his first two seasons in the league, which is a good sign for those who are looking to pick him up for next season.

If the rusher was able to generate a desirable amount of fantasy points for his owners despite missing a number of games last season, then he can definitely do more damage if he manages to stay healthy in 2021.

Rank at Position

Tennessee Titans star rusher Derrick Henry has already cemented himself as the top running back of the league, while Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers comes in at a close second. Meanwhile, Nick Chubb can be found on the mid-to-low-end RB1 range together with other rushers such as Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, and the returning Saquon Barkley.

Ever since he came to the league back in 2018, Chubb has always been underrated, and he will continue to be overlooked by many moving forward. Despite the public's views on his stature among the prolific rushers of the league, he is still expected to be hard at work and produce impressive contributions for his team on the field.

Playing alongside a capable QB in Baker Mayfield along with a much-improved Browns roster, Chubb is certainly in a good position to serve as a solid fantasy pickup for fans in 2021. With the level of consistency that he has shown throughout his young career, the 25-year-old is definitely a safe bet for everyone who is looking to build a balanced fantasy roster for this upcoming season.

For fantasy owners who are reading this, you would be wise to take a chance on Nick Chubb as the third running back to come off draft boards if you want to have a consistent producer who will surely put up numbers for your team on a weekly basis.
