San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance received quite the present from a Bay Area legend in advance of his 21st birthday.

Legendary rapper and songwriter E-40, whose real name is Earl Stevens, sent a pretty sweet package to the new 49ers signal-caller. The gift included a big stash of E-40's own liquor, including E. Cuarenta tequila, Earl Stevens Selections Wine and Tycoon Cognac.

Stevens also added an accompanying note wishing Lance good fortune in the years to come:

Lance, whom the 49ers selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, will turn 21 on Sunday.

There are already great expectations on the former North Dakota State star's shoulders. But 49ers brass have tried to limit those expectations thus far.

Niners CEO Jed York said last week the team is very comfortable with Jimmy Garoppolo as the starter and Lance being the backup, even if that means Lance spends the first couple seasons of his NFL career on the bench. Having said that, there are sure to be plenty of eyes on Lance as he prepares for his first NFL camp.

Lance's stock rose throughout the pre-draft process, with his intellect proving as important to the 49ers as his upside with the arm and his legs. San Francisco will likely hope the rookie pushes Garoppolo to be better in 2021.

Before all that, however, Lance will celebrate his 21st in style… thanks to E-40.
