Super Nintendo World, the massive Nintendo theme park, finally opens its doors this month. Nintendo initially planned to open the park on February 4, 2021, but the opening was delayed due to the issuance of a state of emergency in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan. Super Nintendo World is a dedicated area within Universal Studios Japan and will officially open on March 18, 2021.

STEP INTO THE PIPES

Official news regarding Super Nintendo World's opening cropped up in December of last year with an official tour video featuring Shigeru Miyamoto. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic hindered all plans for the theme park but the organizers promise proper hygiene enhancement measures within the area. Universal Studios Japan collaborated with multiple companies to establish a revised set of “Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Infection in Amusement Parks and Theme Parks.”

Nintendo first revealed plans for the park in 2015 and planned for a Summer 2020 opening date. Finally, the long-awaited studio opens its doors for the lucky visitors of Universal Studios Japan. Naturally, safety and health remain a big concern for all visitors and operators.
