One of the NBA's most lethal duos will soon be reunited. To the satisfaction of Nikola Jokic and Denver Nuggets fans everywhere. Jamal Murray is nearing his in-game return.

The star point guard will miss Denver's Monday night road game versus the Los Angeles Clippers but could return as soon as this week, according to Shams Charania's latest report on FanDuel's Run It Back. This is obviously great news for a Nuggets team that is 5-5 in his absence.

Murray, who last played on Nov. 4 against the Chicago Bulls, has been nursing a hamstring strain for the last few weeks. Jokic is dominating just fine on an individual level, but the reigning NBA champions are definitely not operating to full effect. Fans likely expected such a drop-off, as they remember how vulnerable their team was in two postseasons without Murray.

The 26-year-old suffered a torn ACL in 2021, which tremendously limited the Nuggets' ceiling in the playoffs. In the modern era, one star is simply not enough. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray complement each other flawlessly, befuddling defenses with their highly-successful two-man game. Denver boasts other talent, of course, but this injury is putting too much burden on the supporting cast.

Even so, the Nuggets are 11-6 and are currently in fourth place in the Western Conference Standings. They will be cautious with Murray and re-evaluate him day-by-day. He could be back on the court for Wednesday's matchup with the Houston Rockets or Friday's clash with the Phoenix Suns.

Regardless of the exact return date, Denver has seemingly weathered the worst of this injury storm.
