Jamal Murray's injury continues to be one of the Denver Nuggets' biggest problems. The Canadian star has been out for the entire season after a torn ACL last year. Many expected Murray to be back some time within the regular season. However, the season is about to be over and Murray is yet to make an appearance.

Michael Malone's comments almost certainly don't make Nuggets fans feel better. When asked about Murray's status after a heartbreaking loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the coach replied with a rather vague statement. (via Harrison Wind)

“I can't sit here and say that (Jamal Murray's) going to play in any of these last four games. But I also can’t say that he won’t.”

That's… not a great look. The Nuggets coach did add that Murray was making progress, but at this point, fans aren't asking for progress anymore.

Medical advancements over the years have made ACL tears not as career-threatening as it used to be. It roughly takes around eight months for a player to come back from an ACL tear nowadays. However, Murray has been out for an entire year at this point, which begs the question: what's wrong with the Nuggets star? Is there a setback that the team isn't willing to say?

It's not like the Nuggets are doing well without Murray, either. Without his usual partner, Nikola Jokic has been forced to carry the load for the team. It's gotten to the point that the team almost has to run him to the ground for them to even have a chance every game. That makes for great individual numbers, but it also isn't a sustainable way to win in the NBA playoffs today.

At this point, Murray might make his return to the Nuggets during the playoffs itself, which is incredibly unideal. The dream scenario was for Murray to come back around two months before April to help him get up to speed once the postseason rolls around. The way things are shaping up, Denver might be forced to throw their star into the fiery playoffs… if he even returns this season.
