Malik Beasley got into a brawl with Su’a Cravens in an apartment lobby back in August
Denver Nuggets guard Malik Beasley is focused on getting in top shape to help his team win their season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, a recent controversy involving a professional football player may derail him from his efforts.
TMZ got hold of a controversial video depicting him getting into a scuffle with NFL outside linebacker Su’a Cravens in August. The video doesn’t give any specific context as to the events that led to the fight, but it was obvious by Beasley’s movements that he was agitated about something that Cravens did.
The footage revealed that Beasley was communicating with Instagram model Montana Yao about something the latter was obviously frustrated about. He then called out Cravens, who was at the time a member of the Denver Broncos, before trading blows with him at the lobby of the high-end apartment he was living in.
While Craven is four inches shorter than the 6’5″ Beasley, he managed to take him down to the ground. He then taunted the guard to take their fight outdoors and subsequently posted on his Snapchat about his win.
The two camps wanted to keep the incident under wraps as it doesn’t give anyone involved a good look. However, this issue should put a lot more eyes on the 22-year-old.
The Nuggets are looking forward to a productive season in the competitive Western Conference. Nikola Jokic is well-respected in the league and will carry Denver to contention. Beasley is expected to provide solid numbers off the bench as a spark scorer. Last season, he averaged 11.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on 47% shooting.
Beasley can only hope that this issue dies down quickly so he can focus on playing ball.
