Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread/Win

After struggling to shoot the ball over the first two games, the defending NBA champions have awakened and are shooting the ball incredibly well. Moreover, Jokic has woken up and inspired his teammates, especially Murray. The Nuggets shot 55.6 percent from the hardwood, including 47.7 percent of their attempts from the three-point line. Additionally, they made 83.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Nuggets also won the board battle 38-33. Lastly, they forced 14 turnovers.

As has often been the case, Jokic was the best player on the court. Remarkably, he showed the entire world why he deserved to win the MVP award and now has his Nuggets on the cusp of another title. Murray continued to shoot well. After an awful Game 2 outing in which he shot 3 for 18, he has shot 50.9 percent over the past three games.

Michael Porter struggled in this one. Unfortunately, he only had six points while shooting 2 for 10. But Porter looks to bounce back and help his team find a way to win. Meanwhile, Gordon did well. Gordon had another strong game to help propel his team to the top. Furthermore, he has shot 69.2 percent over the past two games. But Caldwell-Pope emerged in a big way in Game 5. Ultimately, he bounced back after a bad Game 4. Pope also hit 4 of 5 shots from beyond the arc, giving the Nuggets that three-point weapon they needed.

The Nuggets will cover the spread if they can continue finding efficient ways to shoot the ball all over the hardwood. Then, they need to contain Edwards and Towns and force the Wolves to rely on their other options.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread/Win

The Timberwolves need to score. Amazingly, they are 35-18 against the spread and 43-10 overall when they find ways to score more than 1-109 points this season. However, they managed just 97 points in Game 5 and 90 points in Game 3. They also hit 106 in Game 1 and Game 2. Then, they managed 107 in Game 4. The consensus right now is that the Wolves need to score more, especially considering the Nuggets have found their shooting stroke.

Edwards had his first bad game of the series. Now, he must find a way to bounce back and lead his team to victory to keep them alive in this series. Towns led the team. Now, he needs to maintain consistent play and help the Wolves win the board battle. Speaking of the board battle, Gobert is elite. Gobert also was perfect from the field. Even better, he has shot 83.3 percent over his past two games and will continue to be a weapon the Wolves can rely on.

Mike Conley did not play as he is dealing with hamstring soreness. Therefore, others had to step in. But that was not the case as the rest of the team struggled to pick things up. Sadly, Naz Reid finished with just seven points while shooting 3 for 8 and looks to bounce back in Game 6. Jaden McDaniels also had a quiet Game 5 and will need to do more to help keep Minnesota alive.

The Timberwolves will cover the spread if they can shoot above 50 percent from the field. Then, they need to find a way to contain Jokic. They must implement a similar plan as they had in the first two games, with one man covering him, and another towering over the paint. Finally, they cannot allow the Nuggets to hit easy three-point shots.

Final Nuggets-Timberwolves Game 6 Prediction & Pick

The Nuggets have looked like absolute monsters since Game 2. Ultimately, it has been hard for the Wolves to keep up with them. But we saw the Timberwolves play some of their best defense over the first two games while Edwards led them on offense. Therefore, it is possible for them to do it again. Consider the fact that they have yet to win a home game in this series, which means they are due for one. Edwards is one of the best players in the world. While the Nuggets may eventually win this series, it will not be easy. The Timberwolves will find a way to keep themselves alive and force a pivotal Game 7.
