Dwayne Haskins has a good chance to be the first quarterback off the board in the 2019 NFL draft, and could even be in consideration for the number one overall pick. But don't let his standing among other signal-callers in the 2019 class confuse the Ohio State quarterback as a can't-miss prospect. According to some in the know, Haskins' draft position is ultimately unlikely to align with the quality of his career.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller published an article on Friday in which he asked 10 anonymous personnel evaluators who they believe is the most overrated prospect in the draft. Two of them fingered Haskins.

“He's probably QB1 in this class, but that doesn't mean he's a good quarterback. This is a bad draft for passers, but he's still going top five. It's just how the league works now.”

“Haskins scares me, but he has the most traits to work with. Still, he's not [Jared] Goff or anything. He would have been QB4 in last year's class.”

Haskins' rise to the top of some 2019 draft boards has been nothing short of meteoric. He threw for 50 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and 4,831 yards while completing a whopping 70 percent of his passes as a first-year starter in 2018. The redshirt sophomore was at his best when it mattered most, too, throwing for a combined 14 touchdowns and one interception over the Buckeyes' last three games, including a key matchup against fourth-ranked and longtime rival Michigan in which he tossed six touchdowns and zero picks.

There's more to a prospect's quality than statistics, of course. But by the box scores alone, Haskins is absolutely deserving of being the first quarterback taken come April 25th.
