As a cap to what is undoubtedly a trying evening for the Houston Rockets sophomore, Kevin Porter, Jr. has exited tonight's game with an injury:

It's easy to see why he was frustrated: Porter was forced to leave the game after only logging 10 minutes of play, scoring two points on 1/5 shooting from the field. It's a shame too. After an inconsistent rookie year with Cleveland, Porter was traded to the Rockets, then relegated to the G-League before getting recently called up by Houston earlier this month.

And over a small sample size (just five games thus far), Porter has impressed, showing a knack for both scoring (19.6 PPG) and vision (8 APG). Notably, his 16.1 PER over his first five games was above league average, and Rockets fans have been excited and curious to see how he would mesh with All-Star guards John Wall and Victor Oladipo.

On paper, that trio of guards looks like a dangerously fast and dynamic lineup: Wall with vision and speed, Oladipo with shooting, defense, and athleticism, and Porter with his go-to scoring potential. With Christian Wood manning the middle, that is at least a fun lineup to watch sprint up and down the court. Though the team may look drastically different next year, Kevin Porter Jr. figures to be part of what they're building.

Here's hoping that the injury isn't serious. Goodness knows that Rockets fans are aching for some good news.
