Joel Embiid has been on a mission to bring the Philadelphia 76ers to the promise land after falling well short of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, losing to the Boston Celtics in a five-game series, despite being the favorite to take it.

The 7-footer spent his first two NBA seasons on the shelf, recovering from multiple lower body injuries and had to do the same after his first rookie season, having played a mere 30 games in 2016-17.

“That was my message, just going into the offseason, finally the first one healthy and able to do whatever I want. That was my goal regardless,” said Joel Embiid, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. “I've already gotten so much better. It's just about working on everything, perfecting everything. Like when it comes to my three-point shot or the ball handling, which was a problem. I feel like I can do it, but I just need to be consistent.”

Embiid showed enough promise in his debut season, shooting a respectable 36.7 percent from deep, but the big man regressed during 2017-18, shooting a mere 30.8 percent.

If The Process can make the jump back to 35 percent or above, he should prove a real threat from distance, giving him further rope to showcase his improved ball-handling abilities.

It's worthy to note that Embiid has turned the ball over close to four times per game during both seasons — a trait he must get rid of in the near future if he's going to get the same amount of touches in the paint and the perimeter.
