The Indiana Pacers take on the Boston Celtics for game two of the Eastern Conference Finals! Check out our NBA odds series as we hand out a Pacers-Celtics prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

Game one of this series was a very good one. The Celtics were able to come out on top with a 133-128 overtime win. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and he was 10-12 from the charity stripe. Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown each had over 25 points in the win, as well. As a team, the Celtics were able to shoot 47.5 from the floor, and they took a total of 30 free throws. The Celtics Kristaps Porzingis remains out for this game.

The Pacers had a very good offensive game in the loss as they put up 128 points. Tyrese Haliburton stole the show for Indiana. He had 25 points and 10 assists, including a couple shots made at the buzzer. Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner each recorded a 20+ point double-double, as well. The Pacers shot just 10 free throws in the loss, but they did shoot over 50 percent from the floor.

Why The Pacers Could Cover The Spread/Win

The Pacers win games on the offensive side of the floor, and this series is going to be no different. They di not play great defensively during the regular season, and they are not all the good in the playoffs either. However, Indiana is leading all playoff teams in scoring with 115.2 points per game. In fact, the Pacers lead that category by almost five full points. Indiana needs to continue this type of offensive play if they want to upset the Celtics in this game.

The Pacers allowed the Celtics to shoot 30 free throws in game one of this series. That is a big reason why they lost the game. Indiana has to stay out of foul trouble. The Pacers are not afraid to foul, but it has gotten them in trouble. If they can keep their hands off, and keep the Celtics away from the free throw line, they will have a chance to win this game.

Why The Celtics Could Cover The Spread/Win

Boston put up 133 points in the first game of the series, but it was not really a surprise. The Pacers, as mentioned, are not the greatest defensive team. In the regular season, the Pacers allowed the 120.2 points per game, which was the fourth-most in the NBA. In the playoffs, the Pacers are allowing 112.4, so a little better, but still the third-most of all playoff teams. Boston should be able to have the same type of offensive game Thursday night, and win the game.

Defensively, the Celtics allowed 128 points in game one. However, that is an anomaly. Boston is usually much better than that on the defensive side of the floor. In fact, the Celtics have allowed less than 100 points per game in the playoffs this season. That is something that should continue in this game. They need to find a way to contain one of either Siakam or Haliburton, but Boston should not give up another 128 points in this game.

Final Pacers-Celtics Prediction & Pick

I do think the Celtics win this game. However, I think nine points is too large of a spread. I am going to take the Pacers to keep this game within single digits.
