The Indiana Pacers look to keep their frontcourt intact as the team has recently picked up contract options for young stretch forwards Domantas Sabonis and T.J. Leaf, as reported through NBA's official website.

The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that they have picked up the team options on the contracts of TJ Leaf (third year) and Domantas Sabonis (fourth year).

Sabonis will be coming off an impressive sophomore year after the Oklahoma City Thunder traded him to the Pacers as part of the Paul George-Victor Oladipo deal. He doubled his production last season, averaging 11.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in just 25 minutes of play each game. His inside-and-outside game complements Pacers young center Myles Turner as they could arguably be one of the top frontcourt duos in the league in the near future.

On the other hand, Leaf, the team's first round pick during the 2017 draft, has shown glimpses of an excellent stretch forward. He is mobile on his feet, and his perimeter shooting is an advantage for a 6-foot-10 big man.

While Sabonis is indeed an effective multi-dimensional big man, his teammates laud him for his court smarts and playmaking skills. Former Pacers swingman Lance Stephenson had huge praises for the three-year man out of Gonzaga, per Derek Kramer of iPacers.

“He makes a big difference. When he’s on the floor, he’s screening and when he gets the ball in the paint, there’s like an 80% chance that it’s going in or he’ll make the right play.”

Sabonis and Leaf are set to play more minutes as backup for Turner and veteran forward Thaddeus Young as the Nate McMillan-led Pacers team look to build up on their impressive season last year.
