Tyrese Haliburton joining the Indiana Pacers marks a huge moment for the franchise. They now have one of the brightest young players in the NBA as they look to rebuild.

Indiana is set to focus on getting Haliburton ready to lead the team and develop young players like Jalen Smith, Chris Duarte and Goga Bitadze once their season resumes. The team's veterans, like Malcolm Brogdon, will have to assist them as they become the future of the team.

Brogdon said that Haliburton's smarts, unselfishness and two-way play style make him a “great young player” and that he is excited to play with him. Head coach Rick Carlisle said the two point guards are “a perfect complement for one another”.

Brogdon and Haliburton may only have the rest of Indiana's 22 games to play together. The Pacers traded all the key veterans they could except for Brogdon, whose recent contract extension didn't allow for trade, and Myles Turner, who has been injured for over a month and is still not yet close to returning. As soon as they can, it seems like the Pacers will ship their veteran players out and add more young players and draft picks.

Although Brogdon and Haliburton may not spend much time together, they can benefit from playing with each other. They probably won't be good enough to pull Indiana out of the basement of the Eastern Conference standings but they can still become a highly effective duo.

Haliburton has thrived with the Pacers so far, which bodes well for his ability to become a franchise-carrying star. Brogdon may not be around to make the team improve, but he can help during the remainder of this season.
