Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan says his team isn't in a position to be resting with the playoffs just around the corner.

Indiana is in the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference standings. The team has been in a funk lately, as they are just 3-7 over their last 10 games.

McMillan wants the Pacers to get a higher seed and his team to be in a good rhythm going into the postseason, so the veteran coach has no plans to rest any of his core players.

“We’re not in a position to be resting,” McMillan said, via John Denton of NBA.com. “We’re still playing for a playoff position. We play the game that way.”

“We’ve talked to our guys and know what their loads are and all of that. You get paid to play an 82-game schedule. The resting and sitting guys out, we’re not built that way.”

The Pacers are 13-16 since star shooting Victor Oladipo was lost for the season. The club was expected to struggle after losing Oladipo, who is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA.

For Indiana to go on a playoff run once the postseason starts, they will need every single player on the roster to play at a high-level and win as a collective group.
