Despite now being a part of the Indiana Pacers, Victor Oladipo fired back at his fellow former Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant for the comments he made against the franchise recently. It can be recalled that the reigning Finals MVP of the Golden State Warriors caused quite a stir when he tweeted some disparaging comment against the team, while forgetting to switch to his verified Twitter account.

During his appearance on Hot 97, Oladipo did not hold back in questioning Durant’s leadership, as well as calling him out to take responsibility and move on from his decision to leave the Thunder after they were eliminated by the Dubs only a few months back.

“I love Kevin to death, but they were up 3-1 against the defending champions,” Oladipo said.

“Him being a leader, him being the best player on the team, him and Russ – at the end of the day you can sit back and make excuses about 13 to 14 guys, but without those guys you wouldn't even have been up 3-1. I watched that series, I was at home watching that series. They should've won the series, they should have went to the NBA Finals, they should have played Cleveland that year. They didn't, they gave up a lead.

“You should just take responsibility for that and just move on … you shouldn't even bring that stuff up no more, it's in the past.”

Durant made it known that one of the biggest reasons he did not re-sign with the Thunder last year was the lack of talent the team had outside of Russell Westbrook. Although they had a streak of seasons making it deep in the postseason, they were unable to bring a title to Oklahoma City.

Now a champion, after winning his first championship with the Warriors last June, Durant took a pay cut to help his team keep its core intact. He has definitely showed that he is willing to sacrifice to win more rings, and his tweets came as a shock to many, as they thought he had already moved on from his days with the Thunder a long time ago. Now with Oladipo’s strong comments, it will make the meetings of their teams very interesting, despite the Pacers not considered as strong contenders to win it all, as it could fire up both players and bring out their best games.
