Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were all set to get a shot at handing the Los Angeles Rams their first loss of the season. However, Rodgers was robbed of that opportunity after Ty Montgomery foolishly attempted to return the kickoff from the end zone and ended up fumbling the football.

Unsurprisingly, Rodgers was reportedly livid with the running back after that boneheaded move which ultimately cost the Packers the game.

“Aaron was hot,” one Packers coach said per Michael Silver of NFL.com. “And he had a right to be. He yelled, ‘Take a f—— knee!' He was very, very mad.”

According to several Packers players and coaches, Montgomery had thrown a tantrum on the sideline on their previous offensive series after he was removed from the game. That may have played a factor in his decision to return the kickoff despite the coaches explicitly telling him not to.

“They took him out (the previous drive) for a play and he slammed his helmet and threw a fit,” one Packers player said. “Then (before the kickoff) they told him to take a knee, and he ran it out anyway. You know what that was? That was him saying, ‘I'm gonna do me.' It's a f—— joke.

But despite Rodgers’ frustration at Montgomery’s fumble, he also admitted that the Packers offense did not do their defense any favors.

“Our defense was playing really well and stopping them over and over again,” Rodgers said after the game. “We've got to get more than 10 points while that's happening. And then to have it end the way it did, obviously, it's frustrating.”

The loss dropped the Packers to 3-3-1 on the season. Luckily for them, there is no obvious top team in the NFC North, so a division title is still very much up for grabs.

However, they will face a difficult stretch over the next month with three of their next four games on the road at New England, at Seattle, and at Minnesota.
