This offseason, long-time Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was released. Matthews quickly found a new home with the Los Angeles Rams, and had some advice for his new teammates when asked about playing Aaron Rodgers.

“I don't know what I would tell them… I'd tell them good luck,” the former Trojan said on The Dan Patrick Show.

Matthews went on to call Rodgers the best quarterback in the league, essentially calling the Green Bay quarterback unstoppable.

The Rams faced Rodgers last year in the Coliseum and came out on top, but Rodgers played extremely well and should've gotten the ball back with about two minutes left. A special teams gaff by Ty Montgomery prevented a Green Bay two-minute drill, and the Rams escaped by the skin of their teeth.

Matthews played the first ten years of his career out in Wisconsin, notching a total of 83.5 sacks. The Packers won the Super Bowl the same year Matthews had 13.5 sacks, so it's safe to say that he was a huge part of the victory. He also had a vital forced fumble at the beginning of the fourth quarter that ended a serious run by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The former Packer looks to start anew in Los Angeles as part of a dynamic defense. The Rams defense fields reigning defensive player of the year Aaron Donald, as well as capable edge-rusher Dante Fowler.  Combined with Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has a terrifying unit. If Matthews can recapture some of that Super Bowl year magic, there's a good chance that he'll help Los Angeles earn a banner.
