Davante Adams wants a contract extension with the Green Bay Packers, but the franchise does not seem to have something that would satisfy the wide receiver yet. The uncertainty surrounding the contract talks between Adams and the Packers was not going to stop the wideout from feeling good about himself after he received the news that he’s been handed another 99 overall rating in Madden.

This is the second year in a row that Adams has gotten such a high grade from Madden, and it should be hardly a surprise. The former Fresno State Bulldogs star is coming off a season in which he posted a total of 1,374 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns on 115 receptions and 149 targets across just 14 games. Of course, he benefited so much from having someone like Aaron Rodgers constantly lob him beautiful spirals downfield, but there’s no doubt that he can put up great numbers regardless of who’s under center.

That’s one of the cruces of Adams’ argument for an extension with the Packers. He’s been constantly putting up big stats for the team, which he believes warrant another contract that would go beyond the 2021 NFL season.

With nothing on the table for now, Adams could look forward to hitting the free-agent market at the end of the 2021 campaign.
