The Green Bay Packers avoided a disaster. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Packers wide receiver Davante Adams went in for an MRI on Friday for the toe injury he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's not believed to be serious, as Rapoport says “if he misses time, it may not be much.”

Adams injured his toe in the fourth quarter of the Packers' 34-27 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night. In the post-game press conference, he called the injury turf toe, saying it was so painful that he didn't want to try to take his cleat off to see how severe it was.

The Packers lost on an Aaron Rodgers interception on the Eagles' three-yard line with under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter. Adams wishes he could've been out there to try to make the game-winning catch, citing his lack of availability as a tough situation.

“It sucks,” Adams said, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky. “You feel like in situations like that, you let the team down. Obviously I would've been out there if I could, but I'm in a little bit of pain, and it was tough. With a toe injury and the type of player I am — what my game is based on is explosion and things like that, so if I can't get out there and really do my thing how I want and I'm in a lot of pain, I'm sure my teammates understand that.”

Without Adams, the Packers may not have been in the game. He notched a career-high in receiving yards with 180 while catching 10 passes before being forced to the sideline.

It's unknown if Adams will miss any games as a result of the injury. Luckily, with the Packers playing on Thursday night, they get a mini bye as they won't have to play until Sunday, October 6th.
