For the first time in his NFL career, former Pro Bowl running back Eddie Lacy will be taking the field in a regular season game not wearing a Green Bay Packers uniform.
Lacy will be doing so with the Seattle Seahawks, with the season opener against the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. This has led many of his former teammates to believe that he has extra incentive to perform well in the season opener, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

“He definitely has a chip on his shoulder coming back in Lambeau Field,” he said. “Me, personally, I don’t plan on letting him get anything going on this field here, but he’s definitely going to have a chip on his shoulder, and he’s definitely got a point to prove coming in here.”
Although he had the chance to return back to the Packers, Lacy chose to have a fresh start with the Seahawks. His tenure in Green Bay ended roughly, as he suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 that ended his 2016 season.
Prior to that, Lacy was often criticized for his weight problems that led to inconsistent production on the field following his two first seasons that saw him record at least 1,100 rushing yards. All of this led to him taking a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Seahawks.
The season opener could provide Lacy some immediate closure to his tenure with the Packers, as he'll be centerstage to potentially showcase to the organization and fan base what they are missing out on.
