Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is going to be the highest-paid player in the NFL when his next contract kicks in. That fact has been a foregone conclusion for some time now. And in terms of whether Rodgers is worth the money he’ll be getting, Packers defensive tackle Mike Daniels certainly believes his quarterback is “more than deserving” to be paid more than anyone else.

“I think that Aaron should get a lot of money,” Daniels said, via AcmePackingCompany.com. “Like a lot. Whatever a lot is. Aaron should get what Aaron requests. I’m not trying to get in the middle of that. But I think everybody and their grandmother who doesn’t watch football knows that Aaron Rodgers is more than deserving to be the highest-paid player in the NFL . . . history.”

Daniels likely won’t get too many arguments from other people about his comments. When healthy, Rodgers has been one of, if not the best quarterback in the league for quite some time. He has the numbers and the hardware-two MVPs, one Super Bowl ring-to back that up.

The market dictates that quarterbacks inferior to Rodgers keep getting paid incredible amounts of money, so it only makes sense for him to demand-and get-more than he's currently earning.

There are still some details to iron out with his next contract, which could possibly include the added control Rodgers is asking for regarding his future. But chances are the two sides come to terms before the start of the season, and that Rodgers will end up getting “a lot” of money, as Daniels believes he should.
