The San Diego Padres battled the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday and ended up winning 6-2. However, the outcome of the game was not the main headline following the final out. Instead, it was the postgame comments Reds outfielder Tommy Pham made about San Diego's Luke Voit. During the game, Voit attempted to score and collided with Reds' catcher Tyler Stephenson mid-slide.

Voit, who is 6'3, 255 pounds, certainly laid the hammer down on Stephenson. Stephenson held onto the ball (somehow) but was in an obvious amount of pain. It is difficult to tell if Luke Voit truly did try to hurt him or if he simply had his hands out during the slide on accident. There is no denying the fact that the play did appear dirty. And the Reds took exception, especially Tommy Pham.

“The way his hands hit him, it was dirty as (expletive),” Pham said. “I don't like it at all. The way his hands hit him in the face, it was dirty. If Luke wants to settle it, I get down really well. Anything, Muay Thai, whatever. I've got a (gym) owner here who will let me use his facility. So, (expletive) 'em.”

Pham was formerly on the Padres and says he knows a gym owner in the San Diego area where he and Luke Voit could “settle it.”

Tyler Stephenson sustained a concussion on the play as well. He did not speak to the media but wrote the following message on Twitter.

“Only thing that matters is he was out.”

The Reds and Padres play Wednesday at 1:10 PM PST. There could be retaliation in the works when Luke Voit steps in the batters box. It will be interesting to see if Padres' manager Bob Melvin gives him a day off for that reason.
