Pro Bowl Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen just wrapped up his 10th season in the league. He is set to enter the final year of his three-year, $22.5 million deal, which has brought into question his future with the organization beyond the 2018 season.

This question has quickly taken center stage after it was reported that he auditioned with for a possible broadcasting job with ESPN Friday morning.

However, Olsen has made it clear that he is still committed to playing for the Panther sthis upcoming season and possibly beyond that, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

The 33-year-old has shown interest in pursuing a broadcast career once he decides to walk away from the NFL, as he worked the booth this past season for Fox Sports' coverage of the Minnesota Vikings/Los Angeles Rams game. He also worked with the ESPN NFL Countdown crew prior to the Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. On top of that, Olsen has made appearances on various other shows on ESPN and other networks.

What continues to spark this interest is that he has demonstrated his ability to work quite well in that role. As expected, this has brought to attention the question of how much longer he will play in the NFL. He clearly has the desire to play, but for how many more years remains uncertain.

Olsen is coming off the least production campaign of his career, as a broken foot limited him to just seven games where he recorded career lows of 17 catches, 191 receiving yards, and one touchdown.

In fairness, the injury took awhile for him to get over and he began to hit his stride at the tail end of the season. He was a huge factor in the passing game in Carolina's Wild Card loss to the New Orleans Saints, as he hauled in eight of 12 targets for 107 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Prior to the 2017 season, Olsen became the first tight end in league history to record three consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. With an offseason to get back into shape, Olsen could bounce back in a major way next season. Nonetheless, this interview with ESPN does raise the question of what exactly lies ahead for his NFL career.
