Carolina Panthers star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater took a big hit on Thursday night, which has forced him to exit the matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Reports state that Bridgewater has been evaluated in the medical tent, which suggests that he might have sustained a significant injury here.

As reported by NFL.com's Ian Rapaport, Falcons' Charles Harris has been ejected from the contest for the illegal hit:

Here's a look at the play in question:

As you saw in the video, Bridgewater was kicked/tripped and took a shot to the head as he was down on the ground. It was a late hit from Harris, which could have led to a serious injury. As it appears, the ejection was warranted.

The good news here is that Bridgewater seems to be fine. After a few minutes in the medical tent, it looks like the Panthers stud is good to go:

Panthers supporters can now breathe a collective sigh of relief, with Bridgewater seeming to have avoided a significant head injury here. He was actually having a good game prior to the injury.

Then again, he isn't exactly out of the woods yet. It is likely that the one-time Pro-Bowler is going to be reevaluated after the game, and for his sake, we're hoping that he is able to come out of this unscathed. Carolina hasn't exactly been playing their best football as of late, and an injury to their starting QB is the last thing they need right now.

An update on Bridgewater's injury should be provided by the Panthers soon, and we will be sure to pass along any new information as they come.
