Linebacker Thomas Davis has spent his entire 14-year career with the Carolina Panthers. However, with impending free agency approaching, Davis isn't sure of what the future holds in Carolina, according to Max Henson of the Panthers' official team website.

“If it’s up to me, it’s not,” Davis said when asked if this weekend's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons will be his final home game as a member of the Panthers. “It’s extremely tough having that uncertainty, not really knowing what’s going to happen in the future. But at the same time, it’s out of my control, so it’s not something I can really dwell on. It’s all about going out and playing hard and competing for my teammates.”

Davis has overcome a seemingly insurmountable three torn ACLs in his career and actually seemed to get better with age, making his first Pro Bowl in 2015 as well as being named a First-Team All-Pro that season.

He followed that up with two more Pro Bowl selections in 2016 and 2017, but this season, Davis has clearly taken a bit of a step back.

For a Carolina ball club that appears to be stagnating at 6-8, it could be the end for Davis, who was originally drafted by the team back in 2005.

“Man, I only want to wear these colors. I’ve expressed that over and over,” Davis said. “But at the same time, you know I don’t want to be put into a situation where I’m forced to walk away too early. We’ll see what happens.”

Davis has considered retirement before, so it will be interesting to see if that comes into play this offseason.
