Surprise, Antonio Brown misses football. On Thursday, the now-teamless wide receiver posted a meme on his Instagram to express his want to return, specifically, with the New England Patriots, who play on Thursday.

It's unlikely that New England would consider bringing him back until his sexual assault/rape allegation case is cleared up the NFL. The team cut him after just one week of play, likely due to the incident, among others.

Brown could be playing in the NFL. When on the field, he is a dominant force and led the NFL in touchdowns in 2018 (15). However, his offseason acts didn't help his case; which is why he will be watching “Thursday Night Football” from the couch.

After Brown's trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers — in which he forced himself out — he found himself on the Oakland Raiders. He didn't make it to Week 1. In his short stint in California, Brown froze his feet, threatened to retire over a helmet, fought with his general manager, posted a phone call of a private conversation with Jon Gruden, asked for a release, and ultimately got it.

Brown's short time with Oakland should sway away most teams. The Patriots gave him a shot. Days after doing so, a lawsuit was filed his way for sexual assault/rape; more of his previous actions came out of the woodworks. Though immensely talented, New England felt they were best off by releasing. They were right, as he hasn't received NFL interest since.

It doesn't help Brown that he filed grievances towards the Patriots to get voided guaranteed money back. In all likelihood, his meme won't help.
