Cam Newton has apparently made amends with the radio announcer that recently criticized him for being “distracted” over the rap music being played in the background during a New England Patriots training.

As the Boston Herald reported, Patriots radio analyst Scott Zolak has apologized to Newton on Sunday for his rather insensitive remarks. He mentioned that he has met with the veteran signal-caller the morning before their final preseason game against the New York Giants, expressing remorse for the comments he made since he should have never brought up music and went there in the first place.

“That’s something I know that’s drawn attention for being racially insensitive. I’m sorry for that comment, I didn’t need to make that comment. I should not even ever bring any sort of music into play, because I have no clue what’s going on in a player’s head,” Zolak said Sunday during his pregame show on 98.5 The Sports Hub. “It’s been a rough last couple days here, and I wanted to do this on air. It’s the first time I’ve been on air since Thursday.”

To recall, Scott Zolak went viral recently after he questioned why Cam Newton was dancing around during practice, seemingly suggesting that he's not focused on the training with the Patriots and taking things lightly amid his QB battle with rookie Mac Jones.

“I'd turn off the rap music, first of all, because I think it’s distracting for Cam here,” Zolak said on Thursday in his show. “Because in between every throw, he’s dancing. He can’t help himself, to where Mac [Jones] looks like he came to work again. Like, he’s here to work. And everything’s attention to detail. It’s nothing different.”

Of course those comments didn't sit well with fans. In fact, others shared a video of Tom Brady doing the same during a Patriots practice but wasn't met with the same scrutiny, per Boston Herald.

According to Zolak, though, Newton has forgiven him and showed nothing but incredible class after his apology.

“I wanted to talk to him before I talked about this, to let him know. I got a chance to talk to him, and Cam’s nothing but class,” the Patriots radio personality shared. “Great guy. He handled it perfect. I mean, that’s between me and him. So that’s where I stand by it.”
