Earlier this month, the Miami Dolphins decided to trade wide receiver DeVante Parker to the New England Patriots in exchange for draft capital. After acquiring Tyreek Hill, it appears Parker was keen on a fresh start elsewhere, and the Pats jumped at the opportunity of acquiring a wideout to pair with quarterback Mac Jones.

Whenever a player lands on a new team, it's important to know he wants to be there. Well, with Parker, he didn't want to go anywhere but the Patriots. In fact, he literally requested it.

Via ESPN:

“I chose to get traded here,” Parker said Thursday in his first interview since the April 2 deal. “My agent [Jimmy Gould] hit me up, just telling me what the situation was, and the options I had for the teams to go to. The first on my list was the Patriots. I'm just excited we were able to get everything done.”

Dolphins GM Chris Grier also revealed the Patriots were the team most aggressive in making a move for the WR:

“Multiple teams called, the Patriots were the most aggressive. We worked with the agent, talked to DeVante, we wanted to do right by him as well. Getting that third round pick was very important to us. We were fine if it was this year or next year.”

Parker spent the first seven years of his NFL career with Miami. His best season came in 2019, registering 72 catches for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. He is expected to be one of the Patriots' main targets now, therefore it would be no surprise to see him put up similar numbers once again in 2022. New England is hoping for just that.
