Peyton Manning suffered his first L of the season on Monday after the Hall of Fame quarterback was denied access to New England Patriots rookie Mac Jones for a pregame interview. The Pats reportedly did not allow Jones to speak to Manning for his Manningcast broadcast prior to New England's 14-10 win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

Jones has now broken his silence on the controversial issue at hand as he confirmed the team's decision not to speak to Manning. According to the Patriots quarterback, it was all about being focused on the upcoming game:

“I am not going to get into any details, but I think we were just focused on the game,” Jones said, via Ryan Hannable of WEEI (h/t Charean Williams of NBC Sports). “The Patriots do a great job of just helping me stay focused on what I need to stay focused on.”

It doesn't sound like Jones or the Patriots have anything against Manning. The decision does not appear to be personal and it was more of keeping Jones focused on the daunting task he had ahead. For what it's worth, Manning himself did say that he experienced a similar situation with the Indianapolis Colts as a rookie and that he currently holds no ill will against Jones or the Pats.

Jones went 2-of-3 on his passes on Monday night for 19 yards as he helped New England overcome the Bills.
